Hola!!
Gotta love the magnetic nail polishes. I've been addicted since summer of 2011. Everyone has blogged and commented on them, I know....... This is all about the magnets. I've got 4 of them to compare and if anyone out there has found anything different or better let me know!!
First lets introduce the magnets..
From left to right-LCN polish and magnet above the bottle which is sold seperately
-China Glaze magnet which has 3 designs on one tool
-Icing polish with the magnet on a seperate cap
-Sephora polish with the magnet on a seperate cap
For comparison sake I'm going to use one color of polish which is my absolute favorite one. Icings Purple Magnetix.
I did my nails in the same order as the pic with the polish. So here we go again....from left to right lets compare.
LCN
Pros-This magnet gives a really nice tight line and it has a bit of a curve to it so you get more nail with the effect. I love the look it gives.
Cons-The magnet doesn't have a cuticle rest so you have to be very careful not to touch the wet polish. It's around $12 plus the cost of the polish.
China Glaze
Pros-Has a great close tight line and gives me the look I like. It has a cuticle rest that makes things easy. It's a great price. $8 and you have 3 magnets on the tool.
Cons-Its a flat magnet so you have to move it to get total nail coverage.
Icing
Pros-Magnet is in the cap so there isn't the extra cost and it's a great price. $10 and the second one for half price. Can't beat that considering they have 7 Magnetix colors to choose from. It also has 2 cuticle rests so you can vary which direction you want the magnet lines.
Cons-The lines are spaced too far apart and blurry for my personal taste but still a very pretty effect.
Sephora
Pros-Once again the magnet is part of the cap. Makes things easy. I like the way the curve of the magnet mimics the curve of the nail and of course it has a cuticle rest.
Cons-I'd have to say the price is it for me. $18 a bottle but they were one of the first in the area to carry it.
I'd love to hear any opinions you have or some great magnetic polish ideas and finds.
Happy Nails!!
